Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors, conduct preliminary patient evaluations, and assist with diagnostic testing to ensure efficient, high-quality care.

You will maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA, coordinate scheduling, and assist with post-exam tasks and education. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and strong communication within a fast-paced eye-care practice.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity.
• Records and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries and assist with scheduling and referrals as needed.
• Perform diagnostic testing using equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• End-of-day duties including schedule wrap-up and clean work area.
