Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support the Optometrists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic tests, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include performing preliminary patient evaluations, documenting findings in EHRs, and maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA. The role requires collaboration with the team and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and manage the doctor’s appointment schedule.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• May perform scribing for the Optometrist or refractions.
