Job summary

AEG is hiring an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and deliver high-quality patient care. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s schedule to ensure a smooth patient experience.

You will document findings in the EHR, respond to patient questions, and help with clerical tasks as needed, contributing to an efficient, patient-centered practice.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exam to support the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Document findings in the EHR and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• May perform refractions or act as a scribe as needed.
