AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists, manage pre-exam testing, and ensure high-quality patient experiences. You will perform preliminary evaluations, scheduling, and documentation to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Responsibilities include assisting with diagnostic testing, maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA, and coordinating referrals. Strong eye-care knowledge and a customer-first mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams and dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms associated with eye treatment.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT).

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topical medications, Optomap, and visual acuity.
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to visit with Optometrist to determine medical issues.
• Schedule referral appointments and complete paperwork as needed.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication and treatment.
• May perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document medical findings in EHR and assist with clerical duties.
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization via confirmations and recall follow-ups.
• Handle contact lens insertion/removal and manage inventory.
• Perform end-of-day wrap-up and keep work area clean.
• May act as scribe or assist with refractions.
• Perform other duties as requested.
