Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support optometrists with pre-testing, diagnostic testing, and patient education. You will help manage appointment schedules to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience from check-in to check-out.

The role involves documenting findings in the EHR, assisting with procedures such as dilations and contact lens fitting, and handling routine clerical tasks while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School or GED; detail-oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Collaborative team player with excellent communication.
• Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office and basic Windows operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exam by the Optometrist.
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Document medical findings in EHR and handle related clerical duties.
• Assist with contact lens insertion/removal and inventory management.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and state policies.
• Support clinicians with whichever tasks are needed to ensure high-quality patient care.
