AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to assist Optometrists in patient care and education. You will handle pre-testing, charting, and scheduling to ensure efficient, high-quality experiences for patients.

Responsibilities include performing diagnostics, documenting findings, and maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA, while supporting operations and patient communications throughout the day.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Conduct verbal interview with patient to determine medical issues prior to visit.
• Schedule referral appointments with ophthalmologists and other follow-ups; handle paperwork.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policies.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment, escalating to Optometrist as needed.
• Perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document medical findings in EHR and assist with clerical duties.
• Optimize daily schedule through pre-appointment confirmations and recalls.
• Handle contact lens insertion/removal classes and manage trial inventory.
• Contribute to end-of-day wrap-up and maintain clean, organized work area.
• May act as scribe or assist with refractions as needed.
• Other duties as requested.
