Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to join our team and support eye care delivery. You will assist Optometrists with pre-testing, diagnostic testing, and patient education, ensuring a smooth, high-quality patient experience from check-in to check-out.

You will handle scheduling, basic framing of medical data in the EHR, and patient communications. The role requires HIPAA awareness, strong teamwork, and reliable documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patients’ records in HIPAA-compliant systems.
• Industry certification: CPO, CPOA or CPOT.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary testing and assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient medical data in EHR systems.
• Communicate with patients by phone regarding medications and follow-ups.
• Support clerical duties and ensure accurate CPT codes and billing are up to date.
