Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to assist Optometrists with patient care and education. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with specialty diagnostic testing, and manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure efficient, high-quality patient experiences.

Responsibilities include performing preliminary evaluations, scheduling referrals, maintaining medical records, and supporting clerical tasks in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to the details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally collaborate with co‑workers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist, such as dilation, topical medications, and testing.
• Maintain patient records and assist with administrative tasks (HIPAA compliance).
• Schedule referrals and manage appointment calendar to optimize patient flow.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Support optics duties including contact lens insertion/removal and inventory management.
