Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in patient care and education. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage schedules to ensure a smooth patient experience from arrival to checkout.

You’ll maintain patient records in an EHR system and help with clerical tasks, medication inquiries, and basic contact lens duties. The role requires accuracy, teamwork, and dedication to excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• High school education required with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with patients.
• Experience with medical terminology and HIPAA regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations and assist with specialty diagnostic testing.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure an efficient patient experience.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment; assist with documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice and supplies.
• May act as a scribe or perform refractions as needed.
