Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to support our optometrists and enhance patient care quality. You will conduct pre-testing, assist with diagnostic testing, and help manage the doctor’s appointment schedule to ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience from start to finish.

You will record medical findings in EHR systems, respond to patient inquiries, and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• PC skills including MS Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-exam procedures and assist with specialty testing.
• Assist with physician scheduling to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Maintain patient records in HIPAA-compliant systems.
• May perform diagnostic testing using OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera, etc.
• Act as a scribe or assist with refractions as needed.
