Job summary

Rosin Eyecare in Thomasville, NC is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye exams and patient care. You will assist with patient flow, perform pre-exam tests, and help the doctor deliver high-quality vision care in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities include taking patient measurements, operating diagnostic tools, managing records, and maintaining a safe, organized environment. Weekend/evening shifts may be required; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Performs various tests to aid the optometrist with vision examinations including visual acuity measurements, depth and color perception test, and retinal imaging.
• Performs tests to aid the optometrist in accurate diagnosis and treatment for the patient in appropriate time frame.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information; consults with Optometrist or Practice Manager when necessary.
• Identifies dissatisfied patients and resolves issues.
• Maintains patient records in HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Supports contact lens exams and orders, including care, inventory and orders.
• Operates the point-of-sale system and processes sales when needed.
• Maintains a safe working environment and supports visual merchandising in exam lanes and contact lens area.
• Performs pre-examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements to patients.
• Maintains and disinfects equipment; provides clinical support to the Optometrist.
• Weekends and evenings shift coverage as needed.
