Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Greenville, NC is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with preliminary testing and patient prep. No optical experience required; training provided to learn pretest equipment and vision screenings.

You will document medical history, maintain patient flow, and help ensure comfort during appointments, with weekend/evening shifts. Prior healthcare background is a plus; strong teamwork and patient-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand basic math.
• Personable and patient with the ability to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail-oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about the industry, products, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
