Job summary

South East Eye Group Blairsville is seeking an Optometric Technician to ensure patients receive high-quality care during eye exams. The role links the doctor with primary care functions and supports patient flow, records, and testing.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, performing pre-exam tests, reviewing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate patient information while upholding HIPAA standards. Weekend/evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Performs tests to aid the optometrist with vision examinations including visual acuity measurements, depth and color perception tests, and retinal imaging.
• Identifies and resolves patient concerns in a timely manner while maintaining HIPAA compliant records.
• Maintains equipment and performs pre-exam testing with accuracy and clear explanations to patients.
• Works weekends and evenings as needed to support business needs.
