Job summary

Rosin Eyecare Northbrook is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support patient care during eye exams and medical/surgical eye care. You will help with patient flow, record handling, and run preliminary evaluations under the supervision of ophthalmologists and optometrists.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting and to adapt to varying exam scenarios. Weekend/evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1+ year of strong customer service skills (internal/external).
• Strong communicator and listener.

• Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use exam software, point-of-sale technology and ophthalmic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Performs preliminary evaluations including patient histories, review of medications, visual acuities, refractions, and imaging.
• Performs special testing including OCTs, biometry, topography, and retinal imaging.
• Maintains and secures patient records per HIPAA and practice standards.
• Handles scheduling and uses computer systems effectively.
• Ensures safety and sanitation of equipment and exam lanes.
