Job summary

Rosin Eyecare in Manhattan Beach, CA is seeking a full-time Optometric Technician to ensure high-quality patient care during eye exams. You will support the doctor and front-end staff, manage patient flow, and perform pre-exam testing.

The role involves operating optical equipment, performing visual acuity tests and retinal imaging, reviewing prescriptions, handling records per HIPAA, and assisting with contact lens exams. Weekend/evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology
• Understanding of optical equipment and diagnostic testing
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work autonomously

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and eye exams, manage patient records and flow throughout the exam
• Perform tests to aid the optometrist, including visual acuity, depth/color perception, and retinal imaging
• Review prescriptions and patient information for accuracy and coordinate with staff
• Handle and file patient records per HIPAA and practice standards
• Support contact lens exams and orders, including inventory and orders
• Operate scheduling system and POS, input patient data and process sales
• Maintain equipment disinfection and assist the Optometrist as needed
• Work weekends/evenings as required and adhere to attendance
