Job summary

Rosin Eyecare Aurora, part of EssilorLuxottica, is hiring a full-time Optometric Technician to support eye exams and patient care. You will assist with patient flow, perform pre-exam tests, manage records, and help with contact lens orders.

The role emphasizes accurate testing, HIPAA-compliant recordkeeping, and customer-focused service in a fast-paced environment, including weekends/evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc.).
• Coaching skills.
• Strong communicator and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Performs tests to aid the optometrist with vision examinations including visual acuity measurements, depth and color perception test, and retinal imaging.
• Maintains and files patient records in accordance with HIPAA and practice standards.
• Supports contact lens exams, orders and patient care.
• Operates the point-of-sale system and processes sales transactions when required.
• Works weekends and evenings as needed.
