Job summary

Morgantown Eye Associates is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Optometrists in patient care and education. You will perform pre-testing, assist with diagnostics, and help manage appointment schedules to ensure a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

The role requires familiarity with ophthalmic terminology, strong attention to detail, and teamwork. On-site work in Morgantown, WV, with full-time benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams or dispensing eye exam medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye care.
• Industry certification (CPO, CPOA, CPOT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam by the Optometrist (dilation, topicals, diagnostic medications, imaging).
• Assist with specialty diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage the doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Record and maintain patient records in EHR per HIPAA and policy.
• Handle patient inquiries regarding medications and treatments.
• May perform refractions or act as a scribe for the Optometrist.
