Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optometric Technician to work alongside Optometrists, performing pre-testing, post-exam tasks, and coordinating the doctor’s schedule to ensure efficient patient flow. You will assist with diagnostic testing and maintain patient education throughout visits.

The role emphasizes accuracy, patient communication, and teamwork within a HIPAA‑compliant environment, contributing to high-quality patient experiences across the practice.

Qualifications

• Eye exam experience with patient evaluation and dispensing medications.
• Familiarity with medical terms related to eye care.
• Experience maintaining patient records per HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, VA).
• Interview patient prior to visit to determine medical issues for the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals and complete paperwork for ophthalmology or follow-up visits.
• Maintain patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
