Job summary

AEG seeks an Optometric Technician to support optometrists and improve patient care. You will perform pre-exam testing, assist with diagnostics, and ensure an efficient, high-quality patient experience from check-in to check-out.

Responsibilities include preliminary evaluations, scheduling, record-keeping in EHR, and coordinating referrals when needed. Strong HIPAA adherence and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating patients for eye exams.
• Familiar with medical terms related to eye treatment.
• Experience maintaining patient records per HIPAA rules.
• Industry certification CPO/CPOA/CPOT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exam (dilation, topicals, etc.).
• Assist with diagnostic testing and post-exam tasks.
• Manage doctor’s appointment schedule for efficient patient flow.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with policies (HIPAA).
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medications and treatment.
• Help with charting and documentation in EHR.
