Job summary

EssilorLuxottica's Manhattan Beach practice is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye exams, assist the doctor, and ensure a smooth patient flow. You will perform pre-exam testing, manage patient records, and aid with retinal imaging while maintaining HIPAA compliance and delivering high-quality patient care.

This full-time position requires weekend/evening availability and a focus on exemplary patient service within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, visual acuity, etc.).
• Coaching skills and ability to train/assist others.
• Strong communicator with good listening and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow.
• Performs tests to aid the optometrist (visual acuity, depth and color perception, retinal imaging).
• Maintains patient records and HIPAA compliance with accuracy.
• Supports contact lens exams, orders, and inventory.
• Operates scheduling, POS system, and processing of transactions.
• Delivers high-quality service and resolves patient concerns promptly.
