Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant in the New York area for part-time support. You will prepare patients for onsite and remote examinations, perform pre-exam tests, and document results in the EMR system.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, assist with eye examinations, educate patients on testing procedures, and help coordinate appointments and insurance preauthorizations.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience required.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and tests; assist onsite doctor with patient care.
• Explain preliminary testing process to patients and document results in EMR.
• Assist remote patients through remote eye exam process and document results.
• Coordinate patient flow; inform retail staff of doctor recommendations.
