VisionWorks in New York (Lincolndale) is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for onsite or remote examinations, perform pre-exam diagnostic tests, and explain each step of the process to ensure a great patient experience.

You will assist the optometrist, document results in EMR, help with insurance preauthorization, schedule appointments, and support patients through both in-store and remote eye exams.

Qualifikationen

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Aufgaben

• Prepare patients for examinations, perform pre-exam tests, and document results in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor, explain preliminary tests to patients.
• For remote exams, assist with pre-testing, testing, and video conferencing.
• Transition patient to retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plan benefits to patients.
• Preauthorize insurance per procedures.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books, including no-shows.
• Maintain patient flow for doctor effectiveness.
• Answer clinical questions and triage emergencies.
• Maintain patient records per standards.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and handling.
• Place diagnostic contact lens orders and notify availability.
• Know contact lens brands and pull trials.
• Maintain clean environment and equipment.
• Participate in training and obtain certifications.
• Work flexible schedules and travel to other locations.
