Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to support onsite and remote eye exams, prep patients, and explain steps in the process.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, document results in EMR, and help coordinate scheduling, insurance preauthorization, and patient education. Flexible schedule with potential travel between stores.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in optical or healthcare setting.
• HS diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Medical office professionalism and strong customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel to other locations.
• Ability to work flexible part-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Explain preliminary testing to patients and perform pre-exam tests.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Coordinate patient registration and insurance preauthorization.
• Maintain patient records and clinic cleanliness.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books.
• Support transitions to retail associates with doctor recommendations.
