Job summary

Visionworks of America, Inc. is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for onsite and remote exams, run pre-exam tests, and guide patients through the process with clarity and care.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, document histories in EMR, assist with both in-store and telemedicine eye checks, and help transition patients to retail staff while supporting insurance preauthorization.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and submit medical history into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with exams and explain preliminary testing to patients.
• Support remote eye exams: pre-testing, testing, and video conferencing.
• Transition patient to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plan benefits and preauthorize insurance as needed.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books per guidelines.
• Maintain patient flow and answer clinical questions.
