Visionworks of America, Inc. is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for visits, conduct pre-exam testing, and guide them through the journey with ophthalmic professionals.

The role includes assisting with both onsite and remote exams and coordinating with retail staff to ensure smooth patient transitions. The position requires at least one year of related experience, a healthcare background, and strong customer service skills to maintain high-quality

Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.

Responsabilités

• Register patients and collect medical history and ocular data in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and explain tests.
• Support remote eye exams including testing and video conferencing.
• Transition patients to a retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plan benefits and preauthorize insurance.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books.
• Maintain patient flow and answer clinical questions.
• Instruct on contact lens care and handling.
• Place contact lens orders and stock.
• Ensure clean clinical environment and equipment readiness.
• Travel to other locations as needed.
