Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure an excellent patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, performing pre-exam testing, and explaining each step of the process. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists and support the initial patient journey.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience is required.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.

Responsibilities

• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations; explain preliminary testing process to patients.
• Complete pre-exam diagnostic tests and document results in EMR.
• Assist remote eye exams, including pre-testing and remote conferencing with doctor.
• Transition patient to retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Coordinate with retail staff to schedule appointments and manage exam books.
• Instruct patients on contact lens insertion, care and handling; place diagnostic orders.
