Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant in Leominster, MA to help ensure a great patient experience. The role involves preparing patients for exams, performing pre-test diagnostics, and guiding patients through remote and in-person visits.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, document test results, and support insurance preauthorization while maintaining accurate records and a clean clinical environment.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for on-site or remote exams and assist the optometrist.
• Explain preliminary testing steps and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Transition patients to retail staff with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plan benefits and assist with insurance preauthorization.
• Schedule exams and manage bookings, including no-shows and cancellations.
• Maintain patient records and clinic cleanliness.
