Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for onsite or remote examinations, run pre-exam tests, and clearly explain each step of the process to patients.

You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, assist with eye exams, enter data into EMR, and help with insurance preauthorization, scheduling, and patient education. Training provided.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred
• Medical office/business professionalism required
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience
• Training provided

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and data submission into EMR
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results
• Explain preliminary testing to patients and document results in EMR
• Support remote eye exams, including pre-testing and video conferencing
• Coordinate with retail associates and schedule appointments
• Preauthorize insurance according to SOPs
• Maintain patient records and provide patient education on contact lenses
• Ensure a clean, organized clinical environment
