Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations. You will perform pre-exam testing, document results in EMR, and act as a liaison between patients and Optometrists.

The role supports both in-person and remote eye care, with responsibilities spanning pre-testing, insurance preauthorization, appointment coordination, and patient education to optimize the patient journey.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience is required or preferred.
• Background in optical/healthcare is desirable.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for onsite and remote examinations and explain steps.
• Assist physicians with eye exams and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Coordinate with retail staff to schedule exams and manage books.
• Maintain patient records and provide excellent customer service.
