Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and collect medical history and ocular data in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and explain preliminary testing; document results in EMR.
• Assist remote patients through remote eye exams, pre-testing, and coordinating video conferencing.
• Transition patient to a retail associate after exam and convey doctor recommendations.
• Understand MVC plans and articulate benefits to patients; preauthorize insurance per SOPs.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books, including no-show and cancellations.
• Maintain patient flow for doctor effectiveness and answer clinical questions.
• Instruct patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care; manage stock and orders.
• Maintain clean, secure environment and up-to-date equipment; participate in training and certifications.
• Work flexible schedules and travel to other locations as needed.
