Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant in Attleboro, MA. You will prepare patients for in-office and remote exams, perform pre-testing, and explain each step of the process to patients.

You will liaise between patients and optometrists, manage insurance preauthorizations, and help schedule appointments while maintaining accurate medical records and supporting contact lens care duties.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history and ocular data in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and explain preliminary tests to patients.
• Support remote eye exams, perform pre-testing, document results, and coordinate video conferencing.
• Transition patients to a retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and explain contact lens care and fitting.
