Job summary

Affinity Eye Care is seeking an Optician to deliver expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care on-site in Barrington, IL. You will assist patients in selecting frames, ensure proper fit, and dispense lenses while maintaining accurate records in the EHR/ALE systems.

The role requires strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on insurance navigation and warranty information. On-site, full-time position with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year Optician experience preferred.
• HIPAA compliance experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and sales skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories.
• Ensure proper frame fit and accurate measurements; dispense lenses.
• Explain insurance benefits, warranties, and coverage options.
• Enter prescriptions into EHR/ALE systems and attach documentation.
• Follow up on orders and communicate status to patients.
• Maintain clean displays and organize frame boards.
