Job summary

Affinity Eye Care is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care on-site in Florida. You will assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings while interpreting prescriptions and integrating insurance coverage.

The role emphasizes accurate measurements, proper lens dispensing, and maintaining up-to-date product knowledge to ensure quality patient experiences and repeat business.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• One year of optician experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills including Microsoft Office, Windows, and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories that fit prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
• Take and interpret prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists; enter data into EHR/ALE systems.
• Explain insurance coverage, copays, and warranties to patients; provide education on eye care and lens options.
• Ensure proper frame fit, measurements, and lens dispensing; perform eyewear adjustments and repairs as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized displays and ensure product knowledge is up to date.
