Job summary

AEG Vision in New York City is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Practice Manager in day-to-day store operations. You will supervise staff, ensure policy compliance, and assist the Opticians with sales and patient service on the showroom floor.

You will monitor patient flow, help schedule, lead staff meetings, participate in hiring and training, and drive store efficiency and accurate inventory. The role demands strong communication, customer service, and physical ability to lift up to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ABO Certification preferred but not necessary.
• Extensive optical experience.
• Experience with customer service and/or sales.
• Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolves customer service issues/complaints; issues refunds; signs off on remakes.
• Monitors patient flow and appointments/walk-ins to maintain on-time performance.
• Assists schedule coordination and communicates with technicians.
• Monitors breaks and ensures compliance with laws and policies.
• Participates in interviewing and selection of new staff.
• Participates in employee disciplinary actions when needed.
• Documents employee relations issues and escalates to Manager/HR.
• Leads staff meetings and provides ongoing feedback.
• Facilitates training for new team members and improves efficiency.
• Monitors store opening/closing duties and inventory activities.
