Job summary

AEG Vision in Mt Zion, Illinois is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Practice Manager in daily store operations. You will supervise staff on the sales floor, assist Opticians with sales, and ensure policies and patient needs are met.

You will handle customer service issues, monitor patient flow and scheduling, participate in interviews and training, lead staff meetings, and contribute to store efficiency and inventory processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ABO Certification preferred but not necessary.
• Extensive optical experience required.
• Experience with customer service and/or sales.
• Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day store operations with the Practice Manager.
• Supervise all practice employees and ensure policies followed.
• Assist Opticians with sales and troubleshooting and help resolve customer service issues.
• Monitor patient flow (appointments and walk-ins) and scheduling.
• Participate in interviewing and selection of new staff; lead staff meetings.
• Provide ongoing feedback and training to employees.
• Demonstrate cost awareness and improve store efficiency.
• Participate in store inventory when needed.
