Job summary

LensCrafters in Birmingham is seeking a Team Lead to deliver exceptional customer service and manage key optical & lab processes on site. You will help customers with selections, provide recommendations, and support sales teams while serving as a store key holder when needed.

The role also includes lab responsibilities: fitting, placing prescriptions, ensuring optical quality, and maintaining lab tools. Leadership, safety practices, and team training are essential to success.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Strong optical & retail experience.
• Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Sales skills.
• Problem solving ability.
• Familiarity with cash registers, computers & calculators.
• Leadership and training experience.
• Edging and mounting experience.
• Basic optics knowledge and optical measurement experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the LensCrafters team provides unsurpassed Customer Service.
• Assist customers with selections, provide recommendations, assists sales associates.
• Serve as a responsible alternate store key holder.
• In lab, custom fits glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses.
• Strengthen knowledge, skill, and certification for lens and lab processes.
• Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
• Create a safe working environment for all, demonstrate safe work practices.
• Responsible for basic operation, cleaning and ongoing maintenance of lab tools and systems.
