Job summary

EyeHealth Northwest in Woodburn, OR is seeking a friendly receptionist for the Optical Department. You will greet patients, answer general optical questions, verify referrals and insurance benefits, and help direct flow to ensure exceptional customer service.

This role emphasizes accuracy, cash handling, and coordination with the Contact Lens team. You will maintain the reception area, assist with order notices, and protect patient information under HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of reception experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
• Perform yearly contact lens fitting exam.
• Maintain ABO/NCLE Certification.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide World Class customer service.
• Assist patients and answer questions about Contact Lens services, products and fees; verify referrals and insurance benefits; escalate questions as appropriate.
• Coordinate flow of patients through the contact lens department; direct patients and work with Contact Lens Patient Coordinator.
• Answer and direct incoming calls; respond to calls in a timely and efficient manner.
• Notify patients when orders are ready by phone, mail, or email.
• Maintain office supplies for the department; process payments for contact lens supplies.
• Perform clerical tasks for the department (orders, slips, filing).
• Maintain reception area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Coordinate work with coworkers to ensure efficient and accurate service.
• Perform cashier duties and adhere to cash handling protocols.
• Protect confidential patient information per HIPAA and company policies.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
