Job summary

Walman Optical is seeking a Customer Service Representative (Order Clerk) in York, PA to build and maintain customer and vendor relationships. You will manage quotations, stock orders, returns and purchase orders, coordinating with other departments to deliver superior service.

Responsibilities include processing quotations and orders, assisting with returns, and ensuring accurate order status through the system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year of experience in customer service, hospitality or call center environment.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and ability to remain composed with difficult customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Basic PC skills including MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Handle requests for price quotations, orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations from customers and labs.
• Build rapport with customers and provide the best possible service.
• Receive, sort, clean, and repackage overstock/defective lenses, frames, and accessories for vendor returns; generate documentation.
• Assist in assembling and packaging for monthly auto-kit mailings; manage customer lists for auto-ship mailings.
• Use a PC to retrieve customer and stock information, track orders, and update product data.
• Collaborate with vendors to place orders, track status, and follow up on quotations and delivery.
• Troubleshoot problems and communicate company policies and promotions diplomatically.
• Sort and deliver mail, back up department computer duties, and perform end-of-day close-out.
