Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optical Consultant to work with Optometrists, supporting patient care and education. You will guide patients through frame and lens choices, explain insurance benefits, and ensure accurate prescription interpretation and data entry into the EHR/ALE systems.

You’ll collaborate with technicians and managers to deliver an exceptional patient experience, while maintaining product knowledge and a focus on customer service and sales.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum one year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge helpful.
• PC skills: MC Office, Windows, word processing.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Customer service-focused with sales experience.
• Manual dexterity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranties, and insurance.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter data into EHR/ALE systems.
• Maintain and organize the practice display and workflow.
• Handle patient calls, provide order status updates, and escalate issues.
• Ensure proper fit, adjustments, and comfortable eyewear.
• Collaborate with technicians and managers on orders.
