Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optical Consultant to join our on-site team. You will work with Optometrists to deliver exceptional patient care, guiding patients through frame selections, lenses, and lens treatments.

You will learn our products, educate patients on insurance coverage, and ensure accurate entry of prescriptions into the EHR/ALE system. You will handle order follow-ups, communicate with technicians and managers, and assist with eyewear fittings and repairs.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames, lens type, and lens treatments including tints and coatings.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care, warranty coverage, and protection plans.
• Enter all prescription information into the EHR/ALE system and maintain patient charts.
• Follow-up on pending orders and inform patients of delays or readiness.
• Dispense glasses, check fit, and adjust for comfort and vision.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice and displays.
