Job summary

AEG Vision in Ohio is seeking an Optical Consultant to support patient care alongside Optometrists and ensure exceptional service. You’ll perform preliminary evaluations, assist during exams, and help educate patients.

This full-time, on-site role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong attention to detail, teamwork, and proficient PC skills (MS Office, Windows). You’ll maintain patient records in EHR, schedule referrals, and help manage frames and inventory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient PC skills including MS Office and Windows.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exams by the Optometrist.
• Assist with patient education and exam flow.
• Schedule referrals to Ophthalmologists and other specialists as needed.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and practice policies.
• Record findings and communicate with patients and the Optometrist in the EHR system.
• Support end-of-day checklists and practice organization.
