Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optical Consultant to work alongside Optometrists and support patient education and care. You will help patients select frames, explain products and services, and ensure accurate processing of prescriptions in the EHR system.

You will stay current on lens types, coatings, warranties, and insurance benefits, while maintaining excellent customer service and a collaborative relationship with clinicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to collaborate with team and patients.
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Experience working in a healthcare/optical setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with frame and lens selections and education on care and coverage.
• Interpret prescriptions and prepare eyewear orders with accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance benefits, copays, deductibles, and coverage limits.
• Use tools (pupilometer, lensmeter, PD sticks, etc.) to ensure proper fit and eyewear performance.
• Communicate with technicians and managers to update order status and resolve issues.
