Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking a Surgical Coordinator in ophthalmology to ensure smooth surgical scheduling and patient education. The role coordinates pre-operative visits, confirms insurance benefits, and prepares cost summaries for patients.

You will counsel patients on Physician Fee schedules and the Eye Surgery Center, and you will be responsible for following up on and collecting surgical payments. This position supports multiple locations within a dynamic ophthalmology department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in financial counseling or insurance is preferred.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgery and educate patients pre-operatively.
• Coordinate pre-op appointments with patients and caregivers.
• Check charts for insurance benefits, prepare cost summaries, and counsel patients financially.
• Counsel patients on Physician Fee schedules and Eye Surgery Center costs.
• Follow up on and collect surgery payments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
