Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking a Surgery Coordinator in Florida to manage administrative and clinical support for ophthalmology surgical procedures. You will coordinate between patients, surgeons, facilities, anesthesia, and insurance teams to ensure a smooth schedule and exceptional patient experience.

The role requires strong communication skills, experience with EHR systems, and the ability to travel between practice locations as needed.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator or equivalent.
Ophthalmology experience preferred.
Experience with EHR software; Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of contracted insurance plans and procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel to all practice locations as necessary.

Responsibilities

Schedules ophthalmic surgeries according to surgeon availability and facility requirements.
Coordinates pre-op testing and confirms all equipment, lenses, and supplies.
Obtains pre-authorizations and verifies benefits for procedures and tests.
Contacts patients to confirm surgery dates, arrival times, and instructions.
Provides pre- and post-operative education and instructions to patients.
Maintains accurate surgical packets, charts, and operative documentation.
Protects patient information under HIPAA guidelines.
