Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Heartsaver within 30 days of hire.
• Previous PSR experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office and terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use required.
• Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, patients, and families in a friendly, professional manner and direct them appropriately.
• Maintain efficient patient flow through registration and provide excellent customer service.
• Answer telephone calls promptly, take accurate messages, and direct calls appropriately.
• Inform patients of delays and assist with patient comfort.
• Post self-pay charges, collect payments, and provide receipts; reconcile daily payments.
• Open/close batches, reconcile collections, prepare deposits, and correct documents.
• Scan insurance cards, verify insurance, and update patient accounts with demographics and HIPAA forms.
• Schedule appointments accurately per guidelines and confirm future visits.
• Process referrals and pre-authorizations; communicate issues to supervisor promptly.
