Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, invites candidates to join our Management Training Program as an Operations Supervisor. The 20-week program provides hands-on exposure across service centers, with relocation encouraged to participate.

Upon completion, you will be placed as an Operations Supervisor at one of our 240+ facilities nationwide, gaining insight into safety, maintenance, and transportation procedures as well as sales exposure with ArcBest Account Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/supply chain or related field preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Willing to relocate to participate in the 20-week program.
• General knowledge of freight handling and logistics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for loading/unloading on assigned shifts.
• Maintain load plans and ensure load balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign tasks to workers according to schedules.
• Coordinate work assignments and monitor performance.
• Provide training, feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment for personnel and customers.
• Foster safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a positive attitude in a high-intensity environment.
• Collaborate in a team to achieve department goals.
• Support a values-driven culture focused on creativity, integrity, collaboration, growth, excellence, and wellness.
• Contribute to other duties and projects as assigned.
