Job summary

ArcBest ABF Freight is seeking candidates for its Management Training Program to start as an Operations Supervisor. You will rotate through our service centers, learning front-line operations, safety, maintenance, and transportation procedures while observing and assisting supervisors during inbound, outbound, city and DC shifts.

After training, you will be placed at one of our 240 facilities across the continental United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
• General knowledge of freight handling techniques preferred; willing to relocate required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for timely, damage-free, and safe loading/unloading of freight.
• Maintain load plan and ensure proper load balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign job tasks to workers based on unloading/loading schedules.
• Coordinate work assignments and monitor performances.
• Provide training, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visiting customers.
• Foster safe handling, loading, unloading, and storage of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a positive attitude in a high-intensity environment.
• Work in a team setting to achieve department goals.
