Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, offers a Management Training Program that starts you as an Operations Supervisor. Over 20 weeks you will train across service centers nationwide, with relocation encouraged, gaining insight into safety, maintenance and transportation procedures.

You will observe inbound, outbound, city and DC shifts, learn about sales with ArcBest Account Managers, and after training you’ll be placed as an Operations Supervisor at one of our 240 facilities across the continental

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain Management or related field) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to relocate.
• General knowledge of freight handling, imports/exports preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for timely, safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts.
• Maintain load plan and balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign tasks to workers based on unloading/loading schedules.
• Coordinate work assignments and monitor performances.
• Provide training, feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Ensure a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visitors.
• Foster safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a positive attitude in a high-intensity environment.
• Work in a team setting to meet department goals.
