Job summary

Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc in San Francisco is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead daily dock, freight, and terminal activities, ensuring safety, accuracy, and on-time performance.

You will manage costs, coordinate with linehaul and delivery teams, and drive compliance with DOT and HazMat standards while developing frontline staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1–2 years of relevant operations or logistics experience (or equivalent combination).
• Experience in transportation, LTL, warehouse, or service center operations preferred.
• Proven ability to supervise, train, and evaluate team members.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols, compliance standards, and hazardous materials handling (Hazmat preferred).
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain; OSHA/DOT familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dock operations, load planning, freight handling, and linehaul coordination.
• Monitor operating costs and improve efficiency and margins.
• Ensure billing, payroll, and administrative processes are accurate and timely.
• Lead, coach, and develop service center staff with clear expectations.
• Coordinate with linehaul contractors, drivers, and internal teams to move freight smoothly.
• Drive safety, compliance, and risk management in line with standards.
