Job summary

Roadrunner in Chicago, IL is seeking an Operations Supervisor to translate network strategy into execution across dock, freight, and linehaul. You will oversee daily dock operations, coordinate linehaul, ensure accurate routing and data entry, and maintain safe, efficient flows while protecting shipment integrity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 1–2 years in operations or logistics, supervisory experience, Hazmat knowledge, forklift certification, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1–2 years of relevant operations or logistics experience (or equivalent combination).
• Experience in transportation, LTL, warehouse, or service center operations preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and evaluate team members.
• Strong working knowledge of safety protocols, compliance standards, and hazardous materials handling (Hazmat certification preferred).
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Execute dock and terminal operations with precision including load planning and linehaul coordination.
• Monitor daily operating costs and improve efficiency and margin performance.
• Maintain safety, compliance, and risk management aligned with standards.
• Supervise, coach, and develop service center personnel with accountability.
• Coordinate with linehaul contractors, drivers, and internal teams to ensure seamless freight movement.
